Identifying a target audience provides a clear focus for me to ensure that the project idea I create meets the needs of the audience. Determining this information also keeps a target audience at a manageable level as it will be impossible to try and meet the needs of everyone.
Most thinking methods involve externalising ideas. By thinking about the type of audience, I mostly come into contact with, and who commonly experience a lack of identity and purpose, and applying this through brainstorming methods it helped me to define and visualise the target audience and clarify it within my creative brief.
Developing a persona for the project enables the designed idea to focus more on resolving the problem.
